This began as a typical class assignment during grad school at Hofstra University but became something much more.

After watching a news segment, I found it outrageous that Congress would not reauthorize the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. That’s when I learned about 9/11 First Responder John Feal and his surreal, courageous, and tireless journey to secure health care and compensation for his fellow 9/11 first responders and survivors.

Since the reauthorization of the Zadroga Act on December 18, 2015, primarily due to Feal’s efforts, 9/11 survivors and first responders, who ran into the Towers while others ran out and worked on the pile for the months that followed, will no longer have to worry about their medical coverage expiring during their lifetimes.
